This has been a weird week with the weather however, it is Illinois and the weather is always unpredictable. It was cold and rainy this past Sunday and we were in the “lazy day” mood. I whipped out my magnificent slow cooker and threw some things together (thanks to my great friend Ryan for texting me most of the ingredients) and I covered it. I was hoping to make another amazing pork steak meal in the slow cooker but the meat fell apart and that’s when I decided to add the noodles and extra broth. I was a little worried at first but it turned out to be a great meal! I love going to the Amish shoppe and I had purchased some garlic egg noodles. I hardly had to use any seasonings at all. It was fantastic! I will definitely make this again! Hope you give this a try and PLEASE ENJOY!!
Makes: 6 servings
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 pork steaks (about 1 1/2 pounds total)
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup + 3/4 cup water
2 chicken boullion cubes
5-6 cups of water
16 oz egg noodles (or kluski noodles and add 1 tsp garlic powder-when you add the noodles)
salt and pepper to taste
Line the slow cooker with a liner or spray with non-stick cooking spray. Turn slow cooker on LOW and place pork steaks in the bottom of the slow cooker and season with a little salt and pepper…..
Mix the Cream of Chicken soup and 3/4 cup of water in a bowl…..
Pour over pork steaks and add chicken boullion cubes…..
Cover and let cook for approximately 8 hours (my pork steaks were frozen) time will differ for thawed pork steaks. Once they are cooked then pull the bones out and tear up the meat. Add the remaining 5-6 cups of water….
And the egg noodles…..
Continue cooking until noodles are tender…..
You may need to add more water, depends on how thick you like the sauce….(pasta sucks up liquid)
This has great flavor and we didn’t add much salt since pork is usually salty….This would also be great with sweet peppers and a little parsley….
