I just love Paula Deen and her southern ways of hospitality, especially through her recipes. I have made this dip only once and it seemed to go over quite well. I love vidalia onions and bacon…let me tell ya, that’s an awesome combination!
Makes: 12-15 servings
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese, softened
8 ounces of mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cups finely chopped vidalia onions
12 slices of bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
Corn chips (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and spray a 2 quart baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, and mayonnaise at medium speed with a mixer until smooth. Add onions, beating until combined. Spoon mixture into prepared baking dish. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Remove from oven, and sprinkle with bacon. Serve with corn chips, if desired.
This dip can also be made ahead of time and refrigerated for 3 days. Just pull out of the fridge and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking as directed.
